Wow, I had this yesterday afternoon because I was feeling a little down and needed something warm and comforting. This Apple Pie Smoothie was so good and would be perfect for a cold morning breakfast smoothie!

Hot Apple Pie Smoothie


  • 1 medium apple, cored and cut up
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1.5 – 2 cups warm water (depending on how thin or thick you like your smoothies), divided
  • 1 serving protein powder ( I use USANA Health Sciences)
  • 1/4 cup whole oats (dry)
  • 2 Tbs chia seeds or flax seeds
  • 1/4 walnuts or pecans


Warm the apple, raisins, cinnamon & 1/4 cup of water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Put them in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients, including the rest of the warm water. Blend on high for 1 minute or until smooth.

If you add less water you could actually turn this into a really nice smoothie bowl with some diced apples, chopped nuts, raisins and chia seeds sprinkled on top, a little bit of sliced banana would probably taste really good too!

That was it. So tasty and just what I needed!

One thing I like about this is you can make it a nice simple breakfast, snack or lunch. Or you can dress it up a little and make it fancy and indulgent by turning it into a beautiful smoothie bowl.
