Hot Apple Pie Smoothie
- 1 medium apple, cored and cut up
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1.5 – 2 cups warm water (depending on how thin or thick you like your smoothies), divided
- 1 serving protein powder ( I use USANA Health Sciences)
- 1/4 cup whole oats (dry)
- 2 Tbs chia seeds or flax seeds
- 1/4 walnuts or pecans
Warm the apple, raisins, cinnamon & 1/4 cup of water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Put them in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients, including the rest of the warm water. Blend on high for 1 minute or until smooth.
If you add less water you could actually turn this into a really nice smoothie bowl with some diced apples, chopped nuts, raisins and chia seeds sprinkled on top, a little bit of sliced banana would probably taste really good too!
That was it. So tasty and just what I needed!

One thing I like about this is you can make it a nice simple breakfast, snack or lunch. Or you can dress it up a little and make it fancy and indulgent by turning it into a beautiful smoothie bowl.
